A very personal show about love, lullabies and rooting at many places
The impressive love and life stories of writer Rasha Hilwi and storyteller Sahand Sahebdivani.
Personal stories about leaving their homelands and trying to find belonging will be mixed with a tapestry of songs and folk tales.
Their journey culminates in making two children who, through their parents, have roots in Palestine and Iran. Rasha and Sahand talk about love, lullabies, melancholy and the indomitable spirits of their ancestors.
NOT A HOUSE OF BRICKS AND MORTAR

“NOT A HOUSE OF BRICKS AND MORTAR”; a poetic audiovisual performance by Asmaa’ Azaizeh and Rasha Hilwi. It attempts to reconstruct memories and a shared life. The writers question whether friendship can compensate for the loss of their former selves, their loved ones, and the city of Haifa; the city of their artistic and political birth.
The performance was organised by RIHLA magazine & Ahmed Saleh and Produced by passa porta with co- production with Espace Magh, Brussels.
'About the River & the Sea' is an immersive ritual installation by the Palestinian-Dutch Um Al Gaith Collective and World Opera Lab, in a special collaboration with the Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ.
At its center is Um Al Gaith: a rain ritual that is still performed in Palestine during times of drought.
